San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish – Quezon City

The front of San Nicolas De Tolentino Parish has a facade of red bricks in most sections of its wall. Some sections, such as those near the top and those at the center above the main entrance, are solid beige concrete. Above the main entrance, on the beige wall, is a circular glass window. A long thin beige cross is attached to the left brick wall (right of this picture). The church building is surrounded by a gray wall with an iron fence on top, making the main entrance difficult to see.

Picture Gallery

The sanctuary of San Nicolas De Tolentino Parish has a wall that is made of dirty white marbles. On the wall's center is a crucifix with a goldtone cross and Jesus with brown hair and white undergarments. On the right (left in this picture) of the crucifix is a mural of a priest raising the sacred host, with another person kneeling at the back of the priest. The background of this depiction is also goldtone, the priest and the kneeling person wears white, and their hairs are brown. On the left is a mural with the same goldtone background depicting several people surrounded by what looks like flames. Something, possibly the tabernacle, is under the crucifix, but it is covered with a green cloth. Two smaller tables under the priest mural and the mural with flames are also covered with green cloth. The altar in front of the crucifix is draped with green cloth. Its front is brown with a goldtone embossed depiction of a lamb sitting and carrying a flag. The lectern on the right is white with chi-rho embedded on it. The sanctuary, where the altar and the lectern are situated, is elevated from the nave. On the left and right of the sanctuary, just outside the elevation, are statues of two saints in black garments. The back of the inside of San Nicolas De Tolentino Parish has a balcony for additional sitting capacity. On the wall is a circular stained glass panel showing St. Nicholas of Tolentino, a priest with black garment and white stole hovering above several people in flames. Also visible here are framed goldtone murals of four of the stations of the cross: Jesus fell, Simon helped Jesus, Jesus meet the women, and Jesus was nailed.A statue of St. Nicholas of Tolentino wearing a black alb and white stole. On his feet are several people in flames, a depiction of souls in the purgatory. His right hand is holding a chalice as if pouring something to the people in flames. Some of the people are praying, and some appear to be reaching up to him.A semi-oblong stained glass panel depicts St. Thomas of Villanova. He is wearing a black alb, a black cross pendant, and a goldtone mitre. He is holding a goldtone crosier with curls on top, and what appears to be a bag of money with the other half. Two people are near his feet, posed as if they are receiving the bag of money. The back of San Nicolas De Tolentino Parish looks like a normal low-rise building with no indication that it is a church except for the statue of a priest in front. The facade is made of concrete, some parts are gray, and some are beige. There are several glass windows and six balconies: three on each upper floors, and four on one side of the statue and two on the other side. The building is surrounded by gray walls and trees, with the access being through a small gate on the right.
