San Bartolome de Novaliches

The house-like pentagon is a prominent shape in the exterior of San Bartolome de Novaliches. The overall structure has a house-like pentagon shape that extends backward like a pentagonal prism. The sides have rows of pentagon windows while the front has three pentagon stained glass panes, a large one above the main entrance flanked by two smaller ones. The color of the facade is beige, with some red-orange ricks framing the stained glass panes. On the top front is a concrete rectangle with a cross-shaped hole.

The sanctuary of San Bartolome de Novaliches has impressive goldtone reredos on a green wall. The reredos has several arches and pillars. On top are statues of two angels flanking JHS. A dove representation of the Holy Spirit is below the JHS. On sides of the Holy Spirit are two angels sitting on the arches. Below these are two taller angels, each holding a scroll and blowing a trumpet. Between these two angels, and below the Holy Spirit are overlapping letters alpha and omega. Below the alpha and omega, within the largest compartment of the reredos, is the crucifix, with Jesus in flesh skin tone, white undergarment, and goldtone cross. Below the cross is the tabernacle, a goldtone box with a sun-like embossed decoration. The tabernacle is flanked by two angels holding candlestands. On the left and right of the largest compartment are smaller compartments with one containing a statue of Mary in blue and white carrying baby Jesus in while clothing; both are wearing crowns. The other small compartment has a statue of St. Bartholomew in green and red clothing, holding a book with one hand and a dagger with another. Murals of four saints, possibly the evangelists, each carrying a book, are also above the smaller compartments; two above Mary and two above St. Bartholomew. There are several brown wooden chairs with red cushions in front of the reredos; three below Mary and three below St. Bartholomew. The altar is goldtone with embossed decorations that look like crosses, loaves of bread, and grapes. It is draped with green cloth and has a bouquet of white and yellow flowers in front. The lectern on the left (right if facing the nave) has a statue of an angel below it. The angel appears as if carrying the platform where the reading material is placed. On the green walls on the left and right of the reredos are stained glass; the one on the left depicts Mary carrying baby Jesus, while the one on the right depicts St. Bartholomew in green clothing. A statue of St. Pedro Calungsod depicts him as wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and a brown pants while holding a leaf and a book. His statue is in a shelf and flanked by eight goldtone pillars, four on each side. There is a buquet of white and yellow flowers in front of him covering the parts below the knees. A framed Shround of Tourin is also seen below the statue, standing and leaning on what looks like a wooden chair. The backside interior of San Bartolome de Novaliches has a large house-like pentagon stained glass pain that depicts several events. The most prominent is that of St. Bartholomew naked and tied up to a post, with his already removed red robe covering him, while a man in a turban is holding a knife on his back, possibly flaying him. Other events seen here are St. Bartholomew talking to someone under a tree, the crucifixion of Jesus, with what looks like a depiction of God the father embracing it, a building that looks like a house or small palace, and a man in a violet robe holding a large leaf.A painting depicts Jesus in red and white, with his hands tied up. The rope around Jesus' hands is held by a soldier in blue armor. The soldier also carries a spear with his other hand. An older man in yellow and blue clothing, and with white beard and skullcap is pointing at Jesus. The painting has a brown wooden frame and is mounted on the wall. The text below it reads III JESUS BEFORE THE SANHEDRIN.The confessional of San Bartolome de Novaliches is a simple rectangular wooden structure with four doors. Each of the first three doors from the left has four translucent glass panes; the two above are smaller and have a curving top, while the two below are rectangular and bigger. Three lightbulbs are above these doors; two reds on the sides and one green on the middle door, indicating that these doors are where the priest and the penitents enter. There is a fourth door on the far right, but it has no light bulb above it, and it has no translucent panel, making its purpose unclear.
